At your husband’s last breath, you immediately became a widow. Not something you wanted to become, not something you want to continue to be, yet that is your circumstance.

Early on in the overwhelming grief, pain, confusion, and numbness of losing your husband and navigating all the parts of your life that have been shaken – it’s easy to become fixated on being a widow. We feel it deeply in our minds, hearts, and souls. Over time we can feel that’s just who we are….a widow. It can become our identity.

But the truth is being a widow is our circumstance, not who we really are. It takes time and healing to rediscover ourselves sometimes and to find a new path to living a purposeful life once again – so be patient with yourself.

Dear widow, you are still the woman God meant for you to be. You have a purpose. You are still alive and as long as you have breath, God has a plan for your life.

Being a widow is your circumstance, NOT your identity!

Allow God to comfort you, lead you, and guide you through your grief walk…and regain your true identity…the woman He intended you to be!

The Lord will guide you always. Isaiah 58:11

“For I know the plans I have for you” declares the Lord. Jeremiah 29:11
